    The priority of operations are
  1. Brackets are calculated first eg. ( 5 + 3 ) x 2 = 8 x 2 = 16. Brackets can be nested and then brackets are calculated from inside to outside eg. ( 5 x ( 6 / 3 ) ) = ( 5 x 2 ) = 10.
  2. Multiplication and division are calculated before addition and subtraction eg. 6 + 3 x 4 = 6 + 12 = 18.
  3. Addition and subtraction are calculated last.
  4. Calculations proceed from left to right if the other priorities do not apply eg. 6 x 10 / 5 = 60 / 5 = 12.
